- I'm a big fan of G.K. Chesterton, George MacDonald and C.S. Lewis. A couple of other authors I like are Paul Johnson and Wallace Stegner. I prefer radio to TV and listen to Dennis Prager, Mark Levine and Glenn Beck. I enjoy photography, reading, cooking, good conversation, singing old hymns and smoking fine cigars. I belong to a downtown church and am director of the charity program there, Ladle Fellowship. why did Republicans oppose SOCIAL SECURITY, GI BILL, MEDICARE, WHO RUINED THESE AND MILKED THEM TO BE UNSUSTAINABLE..IS IT TRUE GEORGE BUSH SPENT ALL THAT MONEY IN IRAQ AND DID NOT HAVE IT IN THE BUDGET TO GET US TO THE BAD ECONOMIC PLACE WE ARE.. THIS IS WHAT MY FIERCE DEMOCRAT NEIGHBOR TELLS ME..I AM A CONSERVATIVE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND BOTH SIDES..WHY IS EVERYTHING MADE IN CHINA..FREE ENTERPRISE HAS CAUSED SO MUCH GREED..HOW CAN WE COMBAT GREED
